Before I get in to my review on Rocket German, I just want to say I am not the type of person who easily enjoys whatever I purchase. I have something to complain about every single time.So what about Rocket German? Is it any good? Read on to find out....
I have spent countless months learning the German language (expensive class right in the city where I live) to impress my fiancé’s very strict dad but no matter what I did, I still found it impossible to understand what he spoke to my fiancé right in front of my very own eyes. I sometimes felt he was making fun of me.
My fiancé told me that my accent was funny and I wasn’t speaking right. She said I should quit it and just freely talk to her in English. Although that was comforting I wanted my pride back.
I was really pissed off though after spending so much on german tuitions that all ended up slapping me back in the face. I decided to look up some free language courses on the internet when I saw an ad on Rocket German. It does sounded weird and I was REALLY skeptical when it claimed to teach me German in 3 months.
Although I didn’t want to purchase Rocket German at first because it looked too good to be true, but the happy customer testiominals gave me in and I decided to give it a try since there was a 100% money back guarantee.
When I signed up to Rocket German, I got access to 13 hours of audio lessons, written resources on grammar and 3 interactive games. I hate reading... I really DO! So instead of going through the written resources, I just gave the games a quick try. The games go by the name of:
-- MegaVocab is designed to boost your vocabulary skills. A great feature to this game is that it allows you to add your own pictures and words as well…which means you can use this game for as long as you’re learning to speak German.
-- Mega Audio - This game contains over 1000 words over 20 different topics which really helped me brush up my pronunciation of most of the words and I suddenly realized why the whole family was laughing at me before...
-- Mega Verbs - This simply teaches you the changes of tenses of in the German language.
I started listening to the 13 hours of audio content of the Rocket German Program while was working out and I used to play the games when I used to be bored at home.
5 weeks gone, and 4 hours of the audio course still left, my german has totally changed. I laugh at myself when I think about the way I used to speak before I started studying the Rocket German. I understand what my future father in law was actually talking about. (Yep, he did make fun of me..!)
Although the audios and the games are great, I never got the time to go through the written materials of the Rocket German Program that teaches you the right grammar and the tenses that you should use when you are supposed to talk formally.
Rocket German does teach you to write german as well, but I liked it because it taught me to talk like a native german instead of becoming an actual laughing stock.
